Current office refurbishment works commenced with a re-stack of the Engineering and Construction business, Worley Parsons International, from 4 buildings into 3. Following this there has been a rolling program to fit-out a corporate office building, and re-stack the Project floors to match the needs of large Project Team occupancies within two other buildings.
Based upon a client relationship of more than 15 years, the design approach uses well-established formats for open plan office areas, team meeting areas and support facilities.
Alongside this is the installation of a 300 person staff restaurant and Costa Coffee concession. Interestingly, the investment in the restaurant has been self-funding through an uplift in staff working behaviours. Now that staff have access to better catering and meeting facilities, the working day has been spontaneously extended, the opportunity to interact with colleagues improved, and the all-round committment to work has seen a boost. The informal tone of the restaurant has also proved popular with staff when group meetings that aren't structured need a suitable environment within the office.
All the works, both office furniture and office refurbishment, have been undertaken within an overall framework of cost, performance and continuity criteria, allowing some fast-paced moves and refurbishments to proceed within a controlled contract arrangement.
